英語商業書信：常常無法拒絕他人？禮貌性婉拒邀請也是一種能力

當我們收到邀請函但是無法出席，拒絕對方的好意總是有點掃興，委婉的告知對方順便祝福對方活動順利，是一個既禮貌又能維持人際情意的重要步驟。

婉拒的理由

一般來說，口頭邀請比起書信邀請函來得輕鬆彈性，而若想要拒絕邀約，或許在談話的當下，有沒有「理由」可能不會是影響氣氛的主要因素，但若是回覆書信邀請函，白紙黑字很容易失去溫度。這時，若能視情況說明無法赴約的理由，會更有誠意。

書信寫作步驟 Step by Step

STEP 1 開門見山的道謝或是恭喜道賀
Thank you for your invitation to your company’s luncheon.
感謝您邀請參加貴公司的餐會。

STEP 2 婉拒出席並稍作解釋
I appreciate your kindness but I have an appointment that I can’t reschedule. Otherwise, I would definitely be there for you.
感謝您的好意，但我有一個不能改期的約。否則，我一定會為了您出席支持。

STEP 3 祝對方活動順利開心，或提供其他幫助
I’m sure the event will be amazingly successful.
我相信這個活動一定會相當成功。

STEP 4 溫馨結語
Thank you again for the invitation and it means a great deal to me.
